Every year Pantone chooses a Color of the Year- an on-trend color that everyone from fashion and interior designers to florists will use to help guide their designs for the upcoming year. Pantone is known for its accuracy of color across a variety of mediums so that you know you’re getting a true color. I know, it’s super clear. But, know that when you give the Pantone color name and number, designers know exactly what you’re referring to.

This year, not only had Pantone given two colors of the year (Rose Quartz and Serenity), we were also given an entire Spring 2016 Palette. Each color highlights and coordinates with the others beautifully. My favorite of this bunch is Snorkel Blue 19-4049.

Snorkel Blue is so close to what I refer to as Cobalt Blue. It literally goes. with. everything. I heart it so much.

I have a pair of cobalt blue wedges that tend to get a lot of wear because the blue is such a universally coordinating color. Cobalt actually is my favorite color, so I’ve been known to make it work even if it doesn’t!

I wore the blue wedges while I was out this weekend with the fam. They easily coordinated with the embroidered boho top and denim shorts and gave the outfit that little touch of glam that I love. Plus the wedges are so easy to walk in.

The thing I love about this particular shade of blue is that it can go with so much more than you would first think. I’ve worn these shoes to give a pop of color to a simply styled neutral outfit, and the bright blue looks amazing against a black backdrop. The color really pops!

There’s an outdated fashion rule (really aren’t they all outdated?!) that blue and green should never be seen. That has to be one of the silliest things I’ve ever heard! And after seeing cobalt blue paired with lime green, wouldn’t you agree? This is a great summery combination and one that I would wear in a heartbeat!

So, what do you think of this Spring 2016 pantone color? Is Snorkel Blue your style?
