Threshold Pom-Pom Throw Pillow

5 Things I'm Loving

Happy Independence Day!

I can’t believe how quickly June has flown by and that July is already here. Before you know it, summer will be over, and my kids will all be back in school.

Since it is the first Monday of the month, it’s time for the current 5 Things I’m Loving Right Now.

D&A- 5 Things I'm Loving July16

1: These little throw pillows I picked up at Target a few days ago. I was having a particularly rough day (can’t remember why!) and I found myself at Target. Anyone else love to go and just walk around and look at all the pretty things? I had my youngest child with me and a fresh cup of Starbucks cold brew with a pump each of vanilla and cinnamon dolce and cream. I should have known better when she asked to hold my cup, but I let her anyway. And then it ended up splattered all over the stationary aisle. I was ready to cry. But the Target manager and the Starbucks clerk gladly refilled my coffee, I found this fuzzy polka dot pillow and the adorable pom pillow (on clearance for $7 each!), and all was right with the world again.

2: I’ve started using the Loreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanner because while my upper body is a beautiful golden color, my legs are a color that can only be described as glow-in-the-dark. And whenever I try to get natural color from the sun, all they do is turn pink, then pale again- never tan. This particular self-tanner goes on with a slight color and a slight shimmer, then turns bronze within a few hours. I’ve rarely had it streak, and when it did it was due to user error. The color is on par with the natural tan I would get- if I could tan. Definitely worth trying.

3: The Texas heat and humidity aren’t always makeup friendly. Sometimes you can go through your full makeup routine just to have it smudged and melted off within a few hours. My trick to keeping the look fresh all day is this Smooth Criminal Powder by Be A Bombshell Cosmetics. It’s helps to set my makeup for a smooth finish and long-lasting wear. A little definitely goes a long way with this one, and it’s currently on sale on the Be A Bombshell website!

4: Anyone else a Coca-Cola addict? I have been for as long as I can remember. I know it’s not good for me, and I’d rather get my calories from food instead of a sugary drink, so I’ve made a conscious effort to stop drinking it. Whenever I get the urge to drink something bubbly, I reach instead for a Topo Chico with Lime. No, it’s not as sweet, but’s a great substitute! No calories, no artificial sweeteners- just sparkling water with lime essential oils.

5: I’m not really a tee-shirt wearer; you’ll rarely see me in one, and I think that’s because I haven’t found one that has a flattering fit with a great cut and nice fabric. Until now… The Soho V-neck Tee is from New York & Company. It’s very lightweight with a flattering shape that isn’t too form fitting and not too loose and baggy. It comes in approximately 15 different colors, so you can easily find your favorite. I snagged 4 of them: cobalt, kelly green, orangey-red, and eggplant. Right now, they’re on sale on the NY&Co website!
