Tuck and Roll

Gingham Blouse with Leopard Belt

Happy Monday! Austin in August is always brutal. Last week we hit our first 100°+ day, and it’s set to stay that way until mid-September at the earliest. Yikes!

As I was getting dressed on Sunday morning, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and didn’t like how my clothes looked on me. I’ve lost 10 pounds this summer; I feel better, and honestly I look better, too. But something about my outfit looked off.

Gingham Blouse Untucked

I’ve gotten into the bad habit of leaving all my shirts outside of my pants for a more casual look, but lately that makes me look like I’m swimming in my clothes.

Gingham Blouse Front Tuck

I tried the front-tuck– nope.

Gingham Blouse Belted

I tried a belt around the waist– still not right.

Then I tried the one thing I hadn’t done in years. I tucked my entire shirt in and slid a belt through my jeans. Suddenly my figure had shape and definition. I felt like I looked good, and I received so many compliments on my outfit.

So, ladies, let’s show off our figures. We are blessed with curves and swerves that we can so easily flatter. Next time you think your outfit isn’t quite working for you, don’t be afraid to try something different. You may walk out of the house looking like a new woman!

What do you think? Do you have any styling tips to share?
