It’s official; summer is on its way out. Yes, I know that autumn doesn’t officially arrive until late September, but the first day of school is almost here, and Labor Day is right around the corner.
I’m doing all I can to enjoy the summer days we have remaining. We’re staying up late and sleeping in, and indulging in watching movies and playing games during the day.
I go back and forth between wanting to draw out summer- with its long, lazy days and colorful, breezy fashions- and wishing fall would hurry up already. We’ve been in the midst of a nasty heat wave here in the ATX. I’m talking about 100º temps with the heat index hovering right about 116º, so cooler styles still reign.
This look, to me, was the best of both seasons. I found this breezy swing tank at Old Navy, and I knew how great it would look during cooler temperatures under cardigans and blazers. But I also loved how the pink floral print has a relaxed summery feel.
I chose to mix the pink and blue floral with a navy geometric print pant. The loose swing tank over a slim cropped pant gives me retro Mary Tyler Moore feels! But instead of ballet flats, I love a good heel, so I wore fun peep-toe booties instead.
The “bracelet” is simply a long necklace wrapped around my wrist, and adding a grey or navy cardigan would make this look totally rock for autumn!
How are you enjoying the last days of summer?
