Happy Monday!! Last week flew by; I feel like I opened my eyes Monday morning, and the next thing I knew the week was gone and it was Sunday evening again! Was it like that for anyone else?
We finished our back-to-school shopping this weekend. I used to love it when I was a kid, now I find it to be a horrible thing to endure. It’s one of those tasks I dread every year.
This week I found so many great stories…
✦ My home decor has slowly changed over the past year from bohemian to more of a bold, colorful modern. One of the colors I’m gravitating toward more now is green. I’m loving citron green, kelly green, and now, thanks to Domino’s August color of the month: jade green.
✦ A friend of mine feels so strongly about empowering women in impoverished areas to become better off economically by helping them gain a skill set and a way to ear a fair wage. She founded Clay + Light as a way to accomplish this, and just celebrated a huge success: getting her product in Whole Foods! Clay + Light are great products with a great mission!
✦ As my decor aesthetic evolves, I’m finding myself drawn to lighter and brighter spaces- especially in my kitchen. I would love to change my beige tile backsplash to a bright white subway tile, but I really don’t want the hassle of ripping out the current tile, and it’s not economically a good decision. The folks at A Beautiful Mess have a great solution with peel and stick subway tile and it looks amazing!
✦ Also from A Beautiful Mess, easy, peasy DIY grapefruit and peppermint perfume. Um, yum.
✦ My daughter is halfway through reading the Harry Potter series. I think treating her to a homemade butterbeer would make her (and me!) so happy!
✦ WhoWhatWear has an incredible new collection available at Target! So many great mix and match pieces.
✦ Have you heard? Draping is the new contouring! Here’s all you need to know about the new way to apply blush.
